Rheumatism is the term used to describe any pain or inflammation in or around the bones, muscles or joints. Rheumatism or Rheumatic disorder is a non-specific term for medical problems affecting the heart, bones, joints, kidney, skin and lung. There is a wide range of rheumatism and rheumatic conditions. Several genetic factors play a part, so if your parents or a sibling have arthritis you will be more likely to develop it yourself, however it is not inevitable.
